For invited practices
Questions from invited practices
What the network is, how to sign in and keep your listing current, and how the member badge may be used. If something here isn't clear, call Faisal at 631-440-1010.
The network
- What is IPG of Long Island
- A clinically integrated network of independent psychiatric practices on Long Island, owned by its member practices. Practices stay independent: each keeps its own name, clinicians, patients, and schedule. The network negotiates once, together, and the terms are put in front of members before anyone is bound by them.
- What does membership cost
- Membership is funded by a flat fee. The network never takes a percentage of member revenue — not of claims, not of collections, not of anything. That prohibition is written into the operating agreement and changing it takes the unanimous consent of the founding practices.
- Is any rate or reimbursement result promised
- No. What is offered is one negotiation, whose terms you see before you're bound. No particular reimbursement result is promised by the network or by anyone acting for it.
- Who is eligible
- An independent psychiatric practice with a location on Long Island, New York, that is not employed by a hospital system.
- How does a practice join
- Express interest through the home page. Faisal follows up in person, sends the participation agreement and the prospectus, and adds your email to the member list once the practice is ready to be set up.
Signing in
- How do I sign in
- Go to the sign-in page and use either the emailed sign-in link or Continue with Google. There are no passwords. Only emails on the member list can sign in — if yours isn't on it yet, ask Faisal to add it.
- Who can sign in for my practice
- Anyone whose email has been added to the member list for your practice. Ask Faisal to add a partner, an office manager, or a second clinician, and they can sign in the same way.
- What do I see after signing in
- Your member area: your directory listing, your published appointment times, meetings and the calendar subscription, network updates and documents, your website badge, and your practice details.
Your directory listing
- How do I update my directory listing
- Sign in, open Directory listing, and edit the name shown to patients, credentials, town, phone, email, address, website, a short description, the plans you accept, and whether you are taking new patients. Save when you're done.
- When do my changes appear publicly
- Edits to a listing that is already public appear as soon as you save. A new listing is reviewed before it goes public, so there is a short wait the first time.
- Why isn't my listing public yet
- Listings are published by the network, not by the practice, so that every entry is checked once before patients see it. Fill your listing in completely and it will be reviewed.
- What should I keep current
- The number patients should call, whether you are taking new patients, and the plans you accept. Those three decide whether a patient reaches you or gives up. Please review them every few months.
- How do patients reach me
- Most call the number on your listing. Patients can also send a message from your profile page; those come to the network and are passed to your practice.
- Can I publish appointment times
- Yes. Add open times in your member area and they appear on the public appointment-times page alongside your listing. Remove them when they're taken.
The member badge
- What is the member badge
- A small graphic you can place on your own website showing that your practice is a member. It reads "Member practice — Independent Psychiatric Group of Long Island" with the line "Participating in the network's shared quality program."
- How do I add it to my site
- Sign in, open Website badge, pick the light or dark style and the wide or compact size, then copy the snippet and paste it into your website. Your web person can do this in a minute. You can also download the image instead.
- Who may use it
- Only current member practices, and only for the practice named on the member list. Do not pass it to another practice, a hospital system, or a billing company.
- What may the badge not be used to say
- It states membership, nothing more. Please don't use it, or the network's name, to claim better outcomes, superior care, endorsement by a health plan, or any rate or reimbursement result. Don't alter the colours, wording, or proportions, and don't place it where it reads as an endorsement of a product or a third party.
- What happens if my practice leaves
- Remove the badge from your website and from printed material at the end of membership. The listing and the badge are both taken down at that point.
